Where has this show been all my life?

It's called She's Got the Look, and is totally Top Model for the MILF set. What else do you need to know?

a) it's hilarious - a woman talks, in her audition, about her lifelong dream of posing with a lion styled like a siamese twin. And she's definitely not kidding.

b) it's proof that age does not equal maturity - one of the women freaks out after losing a competition and rants "I know why you won, and it's SUPERFICIAL". In a modelling competition. Brillance.

c) beyond belief MILF-iness. One of the women, when asked to share her 'darkest secret', admits that she likes younger guys... eighteen year old guys, and another says that she made her sons sign a contract never to love anyone as much as her.

d) hot, hot, hot ladies. Seriously - these women are smoking. Check it:

Tonight's episode of Top Model was a good reminder of why so many people get together to watch this divine bit of pop culture gutter trash every week.

I mean seriously, this photo shoot? Where the models pose as both halves of a trashy celebrity couple? Priceless.


Clockwise from top left: Jaeda, this season's high testosterone case, as Bobby and Whitney; Amanda, 'the straight twin' as Ashton and Demi; Brooke, the flyest MC, rockin' Britney and Kevin; and Melrose, corn-fed know-it-all, doing a surprisingly accurate Donald Trump and Melania.

While some of the styling was questionable - Anchal's disturbing Steadman (right) being a prime example - the shoot was funny and pretty creative. I think someone finally sent Jay Manuel to art school! Snap!

So far this season's photo shoot concepts have included: circus freaks - including 'siamese' twins, bearded ladies and elephant women; hair wars - featuring ridiculous motorized hair sculpture; modelling stereotypes - including bulemic, drug-addicted and slutty. It's a good time for Top Model fans. A good time indeed.

ANTM - Attack of the Clones

Yes, it's yet another season of the Beckstar's favourite reality show - America's Next Top Model. And yes, the sequins are falling off a bit, the formula is stretching at the seams and the host REALLY needs to tighten her weave... but it's always good times for Tyra Becks.

Not really much to say, except this photo is badass,



and this photo is, as Jay says, disturbingly amazing. Probably the coolest photo on ANTM in a long time. This is one half of CloneForce7, the team of identical twins determined to take Tyra Banks on as one combined unit of alpha-model.

Also, Brooke busted sweet rhymes her first time meeting the panel, which makes me love her longtime.


Too bad her photo was the worst thing ever...


Ah well, you win some you lose some in the fierce world of high fashion.

Top Models Unleashed

So the models are out, and Tyra's in fine form as usual.



I love her ridiculously airbrushed photos. There's another one which I won't even re-post here, just so you will emit the same girlish shriek I did when it leapt out at me from the site.

Speaking of the new top model site, can I briefly nerd out and complain about the ridiculously bad functionality? I can appreciate why they used Flash, and visually there are some nice things there, but the long transitions every time you open a new page, the inability to access photo galleries easily and flexibly, buried content... it's a pretty bad interface.

Okay, I put Chloe O'Brien back in her cubicle, and I'm back to talk models. The girls are the usual - all relatively good-looking, no one leaping off the page really, except for Molly Sue (below). She could suck bigtime, but this photo is hot!



It's also clearly a season of diversity. I was surprised and impressed to find that they have selected among their top 13:
